Knowing a lot of you are ridiculously young, I recommend getting on a light lifting and cardio program as soon as you are in middle school. Most schools have weight rooms and knowledgable instructors for free. The reason I don't recommend powerlifting or pro-tier bodybuilding plans as a young teenager is because younger people tend to be more careless and are still rapidly growing. You should prioritize eating as much healthy food as possible while being relatively lean. Train cardio, mostly sprints and HIIT, and mostly do machine lifts and light freeweight. I made the mistake of dicking around as a teenager, not taking my youth seriously. I regret not having that athletic foundation in my late teens and had to play catch-up before entering college where I am now. As an older teenager, say 15+, don't be afraid to go a bit more balls out with training as long as you have that prior experience. You should have some performace goals in mind after training for 2+ years, but I would suggest focusing on compound lifts if they suit you well and honestly get into a sport (given you already played one in middle school, but its not totally late to join a less popular one).

TLDR: Don't wait to lift. Your body is worth more your time than anything.

If you are in middle school, you have likely hit puberty. If not, there's still no reason not to lift as you dont truly know when you will hit puberty.

How old are you? My current schedule is lifting for about 1 hr before I go to school. It is worth it for me.

I currently just lift at home with a ghetto ass bench and rack set up with free weights. Idk the total cost but its probably <$400.

But my normal routine is to eat breakfast prioritizing carbs when I wake up, check emails and maybe do a puzzle for 30min to 1hr, then lift. I do Arms+Chest, Legs and Back on rotation.
