After ejaculation the body releases a spike of prolactin the “refractory phase” it is what shuts down sexual arousal temporarily
After 1 orgasm prolactin levels can jump up to 200–400% returning to baseline within 30–60 minutes
when someone keeps edging and orgasming repeatedly the spikes stack and keep prolactin chronically higher

Now why is this horrendous for androgenic development?
Chronic hyperprolactinemia suppresses male androgenic development by attacking the hypothalamic pituitary testicular (HPT) axis at multiple levels prolactin inhibits hypothalamic GnRH secretion reducing LH and FSH from the pituitary low LH decreases Leydig cell testosterone production while low FSH impairs Sertoli cell function and spermatogenesis leading to hypogonadism and infertility direct prolactin effects on Leydig cells desensitize them to LH further reducing testosterone output reduced testosterone limits DHT production via 5α-reductase weakening androgenic signaling needed for genital development prostate growth and secondary sexual characteristics additionally high prolactin elevates aromatase activity increasing estradiol which feeds back to further suppress GnRH and exacerbates prolactin elevation

How to lower prolactin
To effectively lower prolactin and reach full androgenic function the approach should combine behavioral and neurochemical pharmacologic methods
1- behavioral, stop gooning or any form of prolonged sexual overstimulation
2- neurochemical, optimize dopamine the primary inhibitor of prolactin ensure good sleep manage stress engage in regular exercise diet dopamine precursors
3-pharmacologic, here comes the real deal use a dopamine agonist such as cabergoline (0.25–0.5 mg one to two times per week) which mimics dopamine at the pituitary to strongly suppress prolactin (i personally use this)
