Today we are going to be talking about the 2nd most deadly side effect of gear, which is the dropping of HDL and the raising of LDL.

This is mainly bad for your health because excess LDL cholesterol contributes to plaque buildup in your arteries and greatly increases the chances of heart attacks, strokes, and reduced blood flow to your legs and limbs. In the photo, the artery with less LDL is clearly smoother and has no plaque buildup
compared to the artery with high LDL

The Drugs That Stop Excess LDL Rise

The two drugs we can use to stop the rise of excess LDL cholesterol are Ezetimibe and Statins.

Looking at the graph with over 200 studies and 2 million participants, you can see that any rise in LDL shows a greater risk of ASCVD. This means even for
healthy adults, Ezetimibe and statins can greatly help longevity.

How Ezetimibe Works

Ezetimibe works by inhibiting the NPC1L1 transporter in the small intestine. This reduces absorption of dietary and biliary cholesterol and decreases the delivery of cholesterol to the liver. This also means that foods that raise cholesterol, like eggs, will have less impact on total cholesterol.

How Statins Work

Statins block HMG‑CoA reductase in the liver. This reduces cholesterol synthesis and increases LDL receptors, which clear more LDL from the blood. DNR the photo to compicated but you get the basis.
