Is it normal that when I take a photo using the front-facing camera in mirror mode, I actually look quite good, but when I take a normal photo, I look distorted and lopsided? Is that completely normal, or am I just chopped?

You look the same to anyone else, just you're used to seeing a mirrored image of yourself and when you see a non mirrored image it looks weird to you, also if you use the 3.0 or 2.0 zoom when taking a picture the lens wont try widening itself so it looks more like you do irl
