*This guide will contain info on the lifecycle of eyelashes and on practical tips and what can be used to increase their length
There are 3 stages that eyelashes undergo. They start off with the growing stage move onto resting and end with the shedding phase where the eyelash falls off and a new one grows in its place. (look at the image below for a better understanding)
So essentially what we want to do to achieve longer lashes is to increase the growth phase and make sure it goes on for as long as possible.
Minoxidil is really dangerous to use around the eyes and lets be honest no one would be careful and there would still be some going into your eye, this can cause a drop in eye pressure and leads to severe irritation
options for prostaglandin analogs:
1. prescription option (latisse/bimatoprost): this is the gold standard, it is normally used as eye drops but doctors noticed that patients that used them experienced longer lashe growth, this option is FDA approved but required prescription according to my research.
if you cannot get your hands on it then these are the 2 chemicals that you should look for in any "lash growth serum" Isopropyl cloprostenate and dechloro dihydroxy difluoro ethylcloprostenolamide
the only problem with prostaglandins is that they are very powerful and have a cosmetic side effect where they cause hyperpigmentation, can cause irritation and in rare cases it can turn blue or green irises brown so basically you'll get a free eye colour change
How they work
instead of freezing the growth phase and preventing them from growing more, peptides enter cells and they increase the production of keratin which makes the follicle spit out thicker stronger and healthier hair.
Which peptides to look for:
* Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17
* Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1
* Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3
REMINDER
this is not medical advice and also consistency is key, since lashes have a short life cycle once you stop using they will go back to their original lifecycle and original, genetic form ie less dense or short in the case of the person reading this.
rep pls hope the format is easy to read
Growth Cycle of Eyelashes

Why minoxidil is dangerous and cannot be used to increase eyelash length
Minoxidil is really dangerous to use around the eyes and lets be honest no one would be careful and there would still be some going into your eye, this can cause a drop in eye pressure and leads to severe irritationThe main solutions that work
1. Prostaglandin Analogs
what these special medicines do is that they contain chemicalls which have been proven to prevent the eyelashes from exiting the growing phase (anagen) and to keep growing for months compared to the 4 week mark where it starts to shed.options for prostaglandin analogs:
1. prescription option (latisse/bimatoprost): this is the gold standard, it is normally used as eye drops but doctors noticed that patients that used them experienced longer lashe growth, this option is FDA approved but required prescription according to my research.

2. Peptide serums (more safe and more modern approach)
Peptides do not have any side effects mentioned for prostaglandins and have 0 side effects so ur chillin.How they work
instead of freezing the growth phase and preventing them from growing more, peptides enter cells and they increase the production of keratin which makes the follicle spit out thicker stronger and healthier hair.
Which peptides to look for:

* Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3
some popular brands that feature these: Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash and Brow Serum, GrandeLASH-MD (they make peptide-only versions), or RevitaLash.
