I am someone who had struggled with acne since a teenager and went through a lot of copes.

This is my progress

I had moderate acne that was resistant to most treatments and I’ve come to the conclusion that there are only a few things that are actually shown to heal and prevent acne. One thing you will need to accept is that there are no drugstore products that can fix moderate acne you will need a prescribed retinoid or accutane.

If your acne is extremely bad do accutane it works but do it the right way get it monitored by a dermatologist.

But this thread is to talk about what I did and what I did didn’t utilize isotretinoin/accutane

Night time routine

1. Benzoyl peroxide cleanser

Benzoyl peroxide is extremely effective in killing bacteria that causes acne and exfoliates at the same time. I recommend the cera ve benzoyl peroxide facial cleanser.

2. Tazoteratene

Tazoteratene is a retinoid it is the more powerful version of tretinoin, it works much faster and has better results but is more irritating so keep that in mind. In my own testimony taz is much better than topical tretinoin.

3. Niacinamide moisturizer

Niacinamide calms the skin barrier and strengthens it which is crucial when using retinoids. I recommend the cera ve pm moisturizer.

Morning routine

1. SPF 150++

This is the most effective way to protect your skin from the sun.

Diet

Just don’t eat a terrible diet and you will be fine.

Hopefully this helps you out if you struggle with acne.

This is fire but I'm thinking your routine is a little too harsh which is why your skin is still red + inflamed... The cleanser and retinoid is a crazy duo tg 😮‍💨 ts can halt healing + cause more acne to form bc your skin barrier will be murdered

Ik what your saying ant thought the same would happen but for some reason the cera ve cleanser is actually very gentle and feels better than other more “gentle alternatives”
