Neck training is one of the most delusional copes in the whole looksmaxxing scene. If you don’t have a long ramus and wide jaw already, overtraining your neck doesn’t “frame your face,” it swallows it alive. Those suprahyoid and SCM muscles blow up, your jawline disappears into a fat sausage column, and suddenly your head looks like it’s sitting on a tree trunk. You don’t look like a warrior, you look like a bloated Powerlifter with no definition. And here’s the kicker: if your ramus is short, it’s even worse—your jaw gets visually compressed and you develop that classic frog-throat look, where the area under your chin puffs out like you’re about to croak.

On Reddit, you can find dudes crying about popping, grinding, and permanent tightness in their neck from “neck curls” and weighted flexions. That’s not gains, that’s structural damage.

So unless you’re genetically blessed with a razor-sharp mandible and long vertical height, training your neck is literally self-sabotage—you’re just fast-forwarding yourself into looking like a bloated 40-year-old truck driver.
