Okay so I went to my ortho today, he was looking at my teeth, said all the right things (crowding, 9mm overjet, severe class 2 malocclusion, crossbite),

I also told him I have sleep apnea and I did 2 scans but here’s what he told me, he told me he can’t offer me MARPE and that my two options would be

1. Premolar extractions
2. Surgery

Now I’m 16 and I’m located in Aus so my parents won’t let me get it until I’m 18 but even then with wait times and Private health insurance I’ll be waiting 7+ years for my surgery to proceed.

He told me he can’t offer me MARPE because it’ll expand out my upper palette too much for my lower teeth, creating an uneven bite, but I already have a cross bite so i don’t see a difference.
Also I’m not sure if this is how it works but even if there aren’t any sutures in the lower jaw, my teeth are flared inwards, surely there is a way to make them tip outwards to meet with my upper teeth?

Anyways I underwent an OPG and a Cenograph, these are the results.

I’m seeing him again in a week, what should I ask him because if I’m being honest I can’t wait till I’m 26 to find someone to settle down with. And also im tired of people berating me about my teeth.

Is that just how Australia works and you can't book a surgery for an underage patient or just your parents?

Save up money and go to another country near Australia or a flight away. South Korea, Indonesia etc. but it’ll be harder to find a certified surgeon that does excellent work

Idk what you mean by that, I have to wait until 18 because my parents don’t want me to do it underaged.

I know but when I’m fresh out of high school I’m not gonna have 20K to fix my face immediately, only reason I’m getting it done in Australia is because it’ll be covered under something called Medicare. Maybe private health insurance too, but the wait time for both is 5+ years apparently.
