Should face ratings be based on comparing faces within the same phenotype, or on an objective comparison model based on ideal facial proportions and features?
If objective, which phenotype is considered the best and why? (Is there proof for the claim?)

I know face ratings try to be as objective as possible, but biologically and historically, people didn’t interact much with those of different phenotypes or races—so wouldn’t that be reflected in their preferences? For example, if two people have the same SMV, wouldn’t the one closer to your own phenotype be perceived as more attractive? If that’s the case, shouldn’t SMV also take into account the proportion of the global population that shares your phenotype?

yes, ratings with the same pheno make way more sense, pretty much yes to all you said.
