Topical Minoxidil on eyelashes is overly fear mongered !!
I was going through this post on reddit and saw this transformation via topical Minoxidil applied to the eyelashes:
Before:
After:
After:
Common fear monger copes you will hear about using topical minox on eye lashes:
"if I gets in your eye, you will go blind bro"
-This is not possible as Minoxidil mechanism's cant even damage the retina or optic nerve, at best you might mild irritation.
They get this myth from the fact is contains Propylene glycol, and Ethanol Alcohol. But here is the thing:
Guess what else contains Propylene glycol ? your fucking shampoo and moisturize
Mind you, shampoo is notorious for getting in the eye, and I don't see anyone going blind from shampoo JFL.
Or how about a moisturizer everyone likes to use:
A quick google search will even tell you ethanol alcohol cant even make you go blind, nor is there ever a recorded case of it.

After seeing this I have tried and have been doing it for 2 weeks so far, using a q tip with liquid minox from Kirkland every night 1 hour before bed.
Some things I noticed while doing it:
- I wake up with a bit of minor ocular edema (fluid retention) but this subsides throughout the day anyway's especially after a cold face rinse, n doesnt even look bad, plus it makes my UUE exposure less severe anyways so ig its kinda a plus for me.
- I had super minor irration when going to bed, but the feeling kind of went away after a while, I think my skin is getting use to it, no eye pain or eye redness either here.
- I have not touched the bottom eyelashes yet tho I might experiment with that later on tonight jus to test, n no I wont go blind JFL.
Expected result times:
Now we know that is usually takes around 3-6 months for topical minox to work the scalp follicles to actually cause any meaningful visual cosmetic difference. But the beauty of eyelashes is the fact it works faster and has a shorter anagen phase so it will most likely take around 2 months to see most of the results.
Reasons I am not using latise and oral Minox:
- Oral Minox Bloats the fuck out of you, so im going to pass
-Latise can cause dark circles and shrink orbital fat overtime, and most of the time this is not revirsable and hardly mitigable.
- Minox is cheaper and more convenient, and mogs every every lash serum in Sephora from a mechanism POV
Let me know your thoughts, and if anyone has tried this !!!
