Anyone heard of topical oxytocin for wrinkles?

Oxytocin is the “love hormone,”:FeelsBadManHD:
but there’s some interesting data on it as an anti-aging skin agent when applied topically, especially combined with microneedling to get it through the skin barrier. Very niche, way outside normal retinol territory.

:DBD21:What the research shows

Mostly recent human-based studies:

  • Reduces wrinkle depth and overall skin aging scores
  • Lowers inflammation and oxidative stress in skin
  • Reduces fibroblast senescence (older, dysfunctional skin cells)
  • Improves skin barrier function and healing
  • Higher oxytocin levels correlate with more youthful-looking skin

Microneedling seems key for penetration and results.

:DBD21:Looksmax angle

Targets fine lines, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles — smoother, younger-looking skin without fillers. Indirect collagen support + anti-inflammatory effect. Very under the radar maxxing compared to stuff like GHK-CU

:DBD21:Caution

Experimental. Not FDA-approved for cosmetic use.
Oxytocin sourcing = research chem territory (risk of bunk product).
Microneedling done wrong = irritation / damage.
Systemic absorption is possible but studies report low sides.

:DBD21:Protocol used in studies

  • Topical oxytocin (~10–50 IU/ml, DYOR)
  • Microneedling 0.5–1.0 mm for delivery
  • Sessions every 2–4 weeks
  • 4–6 sessions total

:DBD21:Stacking ideas

Hyaluronic acid (hydration), retinol (collagen) but don’t overlap days.
Some trials paired with LED/red light for healing.
More users talk about melatonin or IGF-1 topicals.
